The Tele-Psych project enables any attending physician at a Hub facility to initiate a video conference connection with a licensed mental health professional located at one or more distant facilities. With the appropriate medical diagnostic equipment, viewing rooms, equipment, and level of connectivity, the mental health professional is able to conduct a remote psychiatric assessment via telemedicine.
At each patient site, the primary equipment installed is T1 Telehealth’s Telecart™. The medical diagnostic cart is a mobile, wireless, computer hardware and software station with a range of peripherals to support physicians and nurses in facilitating a remote psychiatric assessment via a video conference.
At the hub or provider location, the primary equipment to be installed includes a computer monitor, workstation, HD webcam, and speakers to create a specially equipped assessment space for the mental health professional to conduct the remote psychiatric assessment of the patient.
